Puerto Rican Soprano Nadya Rachid is a versatile singer with experience in recital, operatic, popular, and choral repertoire. She is known for bringing sensitivity and truthfulness to the stage. Passionate about language study and vocal health, Ms. Rachid recognizes the importance of words and poetry in vocal music, striving to deliver candid performances, as well as incorporating vocal technique hygiene in her daily life.  

In June of 2019 Ms. Rachid made her operatic debut as Ciesca in a semi-staged production of Gianni Schicchi, as part of the Si parla, si canta Summer program in Arona, Italy. Ms. Rachid has sung in the opera choruses for Boston University’s production of The Rake’s Progress in February 2020, The Cunning Little Vixen in April 2019, and La Traviata in October 2018.
 
Ms. Rachid has participated in various pre-professional summer programs, including the Vienna Summer Music Festival in Austria, the Summer of 2022, Si parla, si canta in Italy, the Summer of 2019. In July 2016 she attended the New York University Steinhardt Classical Voice Intensive.
 
Ms. Rachid is currently studying under the tutelage of Puerto Rican Soprano, Laura Rey, after completing a Bachelor of Music at Boston University’s School of Music, where she studied with Baritone James Demler and Mezzo-soprano, Phyllis Hoffman. During her time at Boston University’s School of Music, Ms. Rachid studied art song extensively, participated in the School’s Opera Workshop and Opera Project programs, and was an active member member of the University’s two major choral ensembles, the Boston University Singers and the Symphonic Chorus.
 
Nadya Rachid was born to two Puerto Rican parents in Pembroke Pines, Florida and was raised in Puerto Rico, where she attended the Colegio Marista de Guaynabo. Ms. Rachid speaks Spanish, English, and Italian fluently and is teaching herself French and German. She currently offers private voice and music lessons and will begin studies towards a Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology in the Fall of 2023.
